A Brief Recalling

A Brief Recalling

A flower shimmers on the wind, taking
thoughts to travel trails of brief recalling . . .
in a grove of old wood near a perfect noon,
a picnic lunch is spread for me and you.

Mid September days promised on sweet smelling
apple breeze wafting autumn's crisp foretelling -
and we lay there looking up - our bellies full
as we count clouds flying free as airborne cotton wool.

And when your turning finds my lips moist
and longingly brave with loves precious voice,
a flower does shimmer on the wind and I awaken,
feeling a heat of a brief recalling.
