Milk Moon

............................................................Milk Moon

..................................................High moon yawned a mountain range
..................................................with groves of silvered trees.
..................................................Timid birds of night took flight
..................................................unsure what caused this treat.

..................................................In wait, we rode our breathless thoughts
..................................................like children's careless wings -
..................................................basking, sheathed in wondrous awe
..................................................beneath this canopy's whim.

..................................................Then moon oozed shy around our heads
..................................................and milk-white grew the air,
..................................................like centrifugal liquid pearls
..................................................that drove our eyes to stare.
