The Land Of Nod By: Robert Louis Stevenson

Post by Guest on Mon 12 Jan 2009, 3:50 am

I was looking for one poem "Winken,Blinken and Nod"
But found this one and liked it so much that I wanted to share it with you.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Robert Louis Stevenson

Born on November 13, 1850, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Robert Louis Stevenson was a representative of Neo-romanticism during the Modernist period. Though largely dismissed during much of the 20th century, he remains a favorite author of children's verse and is among the 25 most translated writers in the world...

The Land of Nod
by Robert Louis Stevenson

From Breakfast on through all the day
At home among my friends I stay,
But every night I go abroad
Afar into the land of Nod.

All by myself I have to go,
With none to tell me what to do--
All alone beside the streams
And up the mountain-sides of dreams.

The strangest things are there for me,
Both things to eat and things to see,
And many frightening sights abroad
Till morning in the land of Nod.

Try as I like to find the way,
I never can get back by day,
Nor can remember plain and clear
The curious music that I hear.
